I love you

I first got socks when I was 5 years old. He was the pet stores mascot but they put him up for adoption because he was too loud. My parents got him just for me.

This week, he passed away. over the past couple years, he developed arthritis, deafness, partial blindness, and all his teeth fell out. But like Grandma, he didn't let any of these things stop him. But a couple days ago he stopped eating and would cry sometimes. We knew after 18 years his time had finally come, so we did all we could do - kept him warm, safe and snuggled up with us. One crucial moment was when i held him in my arms for what felt like hours, and could only describe as like being a mother with my dying child in my arms.

This has been a rough week for me, and it's going to get worse as I am unable to attend he sprinkling of my grandmas ashes due to my job needing me for their special double ticket promotion. I've about had it with the place frankly, but i put up with it because I need the money. Anyway...it felt good to actually do something while crying again and make some art in memory of him. Maybe this will help me feel better...maybe I'll just cry every time I look at it. But either way, he was an adorable, unique and very loud kitty and I love him.
